beauty is only skin deep

I just got back from Miami, and had a whirlwind of a time. I headed east with Ana to celebrate in the launch of her new book Bilingual is Better. As a friend, co-worker and fellow blogger I was gleaming with pride – to witness her journey over the last year has been inspiring beyond belief. Between her launch, seeing family, meeting new people, bonding with loved ones and taking in the sunshine state, I had to pack my reliable skincare gems to make sure I stayed looking good through Miami’s humidity. It’s a killer and certainly aids in the melting makeup syndrome – even though I invested tons in smudge proof products. The skin just has to look good all on its own. You know I love Amway’s Artistry, and their renewing peel helped a lot in keeping a natural glow even after my makeup called it quits. I’m not one to spend too much time fussing over re-applying while I’m out.
So, since being bilingual is better and skincare is my thing – Join me tonight for We will talk lots about the beauty of our Latino roots, travel, skincare and our health. Amway is also giving away Travel Packs for men and women filled with skincare and health products. Also present will be @, , , , and me at the wheel. Stop by and let’s celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. See you later!

As of late, I’ve been keeping my eye on Men’s fashion – Taking notes of the tailoring, structure and silhouettes. I think my interest took form a few years ago actually during the film Inception. Thank goodness we didn’t have to weigh in with our luggage before boarding our flight because after my trip to New Orleans, I would’ve been told to keep my fried green tomato eating self at The Roosevelt [Read more →]

I’ve not been lucky in the technology department as of late. Between my blog getting a weird bug leaving me to slave over spam and lost plugins and my treasured D40 finding another home between Philadelphia and Los Angeles, let’s just say Amish life seems very desirable right about now. I’m working my way back into the tech game, friends. Just in time for back to school moments and collaborations such as this second post for Hansen’s. As a first day of school perk, we grabbed some Hansen’s Natural Root Beer and snapped a few pics by the Wrigley mansion in Pasadena, which is absolutely beautiful inside. And that’s one of the awesome bits of homeschooling – the trips. And to make things even more delightful – California weather. So we are back to the grind. And as I mentioned in my previous Hansen’s post, we are not big soda drinkers but I am OK with a trip to Trader Joe’s for a bubbly treat with my son, who is always allowed to grab a can while I shop.
