That’s me on NBC Latino talking about the Day of the Dead and what it means to me. It was part of a makeup tutorial – Dia de Los Muertos – how to create the ultimate makeup look. I was asked to do a look that would not take a very long time. Going full face with all the embellishments takes a lot of time, especially if you’re a perfectionist. Granted, art is about the process and not the result but that’s a rule I’ve never really been able to follow myself. When I used to teach art to kids, I would always say “enjoy the process” but believe me I totally understood their need to make the straightest line known to man. It’s also why I love abstract expressionism so much – I admire the artist’s ability to be free. Anyway, back to the tutorial!
